Reducing ADSL Rates

NTRA has approved new amendments to the ADSL initiative with the aim of increasing the number of ADSL subscribers to surmount to ½ millions by 2007. Number of ADSL subscribers at the time being stands at 130 thousands.
Amendments include reducing rates by almost 40% as well as offering new services with lower rates yet with limited downloading capacities.
Those amendments synchronize with the latest step taken by the NTRA to invite the local and international consortia to obtain licenses for establishing and operating international gateway. This step is apt to put an end to the monopoly of the international provider of internet linkage. This means lower internet linkage rates and hence lower ADSL subscription rates.
