The NTRA is responsible for the following:

1. Preparing the National Numbering Plan for public telecom services and monitoring its implementation.
2. Guaranteeing the availability of numbers suitable for all telecom services inside Egypt.
3. Guaranteeing equitability and transparency among various telecommunications operators.
4.  Updating the National Numbering Plan according to any new developments and services introduced in ICT sector.
